The Snow In Spain

The snow in Spain
falls heavy on the plain.

This harsh winter of discontent
it is falling cold,thick and deep
like wild tigers and wolves.

The cold spell is freezing
right from Siberia,northern China
to Europe.

Temperatures are minus 20 degree Centigrade
in Scotland.

Many homeless hopeless
sufferers are frozen dead
in Poland.

Schools and shops have shuttered
and vehicles are moving like snails
in the heavy snowfalls and freezing fog.


Flights are disrupted,cancelled and
rescheduled as airports closed and reopened.

Trains are grounded with Eurostar
cancelling high speed train services
to and fro London,Paris and Brussels.

This weekend Spain flashed
emergency as air traffic controllers
walked away from their posts
in historic wildcat strike
on Friday(Dec.3,2010).

The mass "sick" leave strike
staged by the Syndicate Union of Air Controllers
over working conditions,working hours and benefits
paralysed Spain
causing chaos
as the air space
closed,flights cancelled
and passengers stranded
in Madrid,Barcelona
and elsewhere.

The upset Spanish government
cried "blackmail"
and declared unprecedented
new state of emergency
sending the military to take control
of airport control towers and
reopened the closed air space
at 3.30 p.m. Saturday.

This was done by Spain's Cabinet
led by Prime Minister
Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero
at an emergency meeting
to declare the state of emergency
lasting 15 days - more than 30 years
after democracy and death of
dictator General Francisco Franco
in 1975.

The air traffic controllers
returned to work under military watch
for fear of prosecution and imprisonment
under Spain's military law.

In sharp contrast,massive forest wildfires
are raging in northern Israel killing
at least 42 people and sending thousands
of victims fleeing from their homes around
the Carmel mountain range overlooking
Haifa.

And in the southern hemisphere,
floods have hit Miranda State in northern
Venezuela and regional towns in New South Wales
in Australia.

The Murrumbidgee River is due to burst
its banks in Wagga Wagga.

Meanwhile,experts are putting
their heads together and talking
about how best to fight global warming
at the UN Climate Change Conference
in Cancun, Mexico.

Interestingly,Thailand's aging King Bhumibol Adulyadej,
the world's longest reigning monarch,
marked his 83rd birthday in Bangkok today(De.5.2010).

The Year of Tiger

the global woes
now sweeping the world
to awaken the consciousness
conscience of mankind to thankfulness.

Like fishes swimming against the stream
will my voice rise above the masses
rare as gold
rousing millions of sufferers
out of sleep.

Will the truth be known
that right will triumph

no matter how

following unquestioningly
the dictates and objectives
of billionaire owners
working hand in glove
with political masters
seeking to stay in power
with no shame.

Can I speak out loud
to doubt
the magical spells ~
the drone of flies...

Can I grasp the meanings
of fast emerging trends
and help people understand
What I have found and propound
profound the vision
of a better,brighter and greater world
promoting global humanity
rooted in
True UNIVERSAL LOVE!

Will I share the care
the grave concern
for PEACE,HAPPINESS and JOY
to prevail
in life's essence
strengthening Truth,
Goodness,Justice,Charity,Mercy
and Benevolence
as Cardinal Principles
for enlightened human civilization
and
light fire inspire
generations after generations
towards new heights of achievements.

on Thanksgiving Day on November 26,2010
amid overcast global outlook
as Ireland suffers Irish Crisis
and the ire
of disillusioned citizens
ANGRY at a government
on the verge
of falling apart.

Ireland,the Celtic Tiger
proud
faces sovereign debt burden
economic collapse
in this Year of Tiger.

The European Union(EU)
and International Monetary Fund(IMF)
are rushing multi-billion euro rescue
bailout package
to keep it afloat.

Ireland's sovereign debts
have reached unsustainable level
after historic property and bank busts ~
the third national bankruptcy
after Iceland and Greece (May 2010 Euro 110 billion
Emergency Bailout Rescue).

What lessons can we learn
from the root causes
of the rapid collapse
of nations one after another
in the current gloom doom
of 2010 Global Meltdown 2
linked to mountains of debts
that have piled and spun
out of control of governments
in huge geopolitical economic
financial earthquakes.

2010 I think is
The Year of Cataclysm
when the earth quaked (Haiti,Chile,Qinghai and Indonesia),
the wind and rain lashed
in tempestuous torrents flooding nations
(Fiji,Australia,Pakistan,Southern China and Thailand)
and Volcanoes erupted(Iceland and Indonesia).

Now the Harsh Realities
have hit hard:
"AUSTERITY"
IS THE POPULAR
BITTER MEDICINE
being offered to cure ills
built up over many years
of excess and extravagence.

Jobless queues grow longer by the day
in Ireland reminiscent of the hardships
of the 1930s' Great Depression in the USA.

Dare I air
the crux of the matter
the shit in the hair
that big banks must take
huge haircuts
to clean up the mess.

Can I share
the next chapter in this unfolding story
of tumultuous human and national crises
that may spread like the H1N1 influenza
In fierce PIIGS(Portugal,Ireland,Italy,Greece and Spain)
contagion to neighboring regions and other
vulnerable places and societies
to transform all
on earth?

So better
control your debts
before your debts
control you.

Today I meditate

on peace ~ calm crystal clear

water tranquil still

reflecting the sky

like a mirror

in clean pond,

pool,lake and sea.

I contemplate

the ease,satisfaction,

benediction

shining in good kind

words,acts,deeds and feats.

Today please remember

to live in the 21st Century

and not in the 17th Century

or backwards in time

when wars were waged

over religion,race

or supremacy of tribal

dominance or group think.

Given the option

I choose fame

fragrant as red roses

radiant in tender bloom

against the blame shame

ill,evil,sorrow and wrong

of war!

Better that I embrace

kindness,goodness,happiness,

the warmth of love,

the comfort of family

hearth and home

celebrating golden moments

of hearty laughter

with dear loved ones

and sincere friends.

Yes, I treasure

the boon benefit

of peace,progress and prosperity

and dislike

the bane bestiality of war

regression and poverty.

I would rather devote

resources to promote

peace as fundamental condition

for human civilization

evolution into Great Global Humanity

rooted firmly

in True UNIVERSAL LOVE!

This means I must strengthen

magnanimity,meritocracy and multinationality

(the 3Ms) as my legacy for all

everywhere to love one another

helping,sharing and caring

to build a better brighter

greater greener more gracious

world for the future generation.

I advocate peace against war.

I remember the doctrinal ferocity

of medieval fallacy

when the sun was thought

to orbit around the earth

or the conceits of self-righteous

wars of religion

As a global citizen
